My lips have been suffering this winter. If you're one of those lucky people whose skin just doesn't seem to be affected by the weather, I really do envy you! Hot weather, cold weather, I am bound to find my skin in a bit of a pickle. These winter months have been no exception. A little hormonal trouble, some incident with some new products I was trying, and general weather change left me feeling the worse for wear. This time though, my lips really suffered, which is really unusual for me. The odd dry patch here and there is somewhat usual, but this time my lips were peeling so much, I couldn't bring myself to wear my usual dark winter lip colours that I normally adore wearing in the darker months. Some serious tender love and care was sorely needed, and the opening of a new Fresh store down the road from work was just the opportunity I needed to give some of their famous lip products a go.

I picked up two of their Sugar Lip Treatment sticks, one in Honey, a gorgeous nude colour that is extremely natural and would be wearable on most complexions, and Tulip, which is a hot-pink colour that looks a little startling in the tube, but can be worn fairly sheer, or really built up. Both are extremely comfortable, moisturising and soothing on the lips, but they never feel too heavy or oily. The fact that the formula for these treatments includes jojoba oil and olive oil emphasises for me the moisturising quality of the treatments, not to mention grapeseed, avocado and meadowfoam. Really, I'm just amazed how light my lips don't feel greasy when I'm wearing them. I've had both of these less than a month, but I use Honey so much, I have a feeling that I'll be repurchasing in a few months!

I struggled to decide between the Advanced Therapy Nourishing Lip Balm and the plain Sugar Lip Treatment, and then in the end plumped for something altogether different, the Sugar Lip Therapy Advanced Serum. This serum is aimed at moisturising the lips as well as the contour area. I'm not able to tell if it really is as an 'ultimate age-defying' product as they claim it to be. What I can tell you is that it really is a serum. For the lips. I know, who knew that they would start making serum specifically for your lips. If you're expecting to feel like you're slathering on something onto your mouth area, you'll be disappointed: this is a very thin, lightweight cream, that is best applied before going in with some thicker layer if you have really dry lips. If you don't suffer from that, then a small pump of this morning and evening might be enough. I personally have found that this has been great to put on my lips after I've gone in with a lip scrub, and then 5 minutes later, applying a thicker lip balm over. I'll use it anyway, but it has really been working after a go-over with a scrub. I'm not sure I would necessarily buy this again, as it's pretty pricy, at £29 for 10ml! Still, my lips were very much in need of extra help, so I'm glad I've got it with me during the colder months.

Have you tried any other colours in the Sugar Lip Treatments? Are there any shades you think I should be adding to my collection? What about any of other Fresh products? Let me know in the comments!
